Quickie takes
A while back, I did a one-sentence opinion of the immigration issue, and Wendy suggested that I try it as a feature. Admittedly, I have hard and soft news included, so here it goes:
Duke rape case: How can DNA evidence be enough to convict but not enough to exonerate?
Oprah and Gayle are gay: If two women can’t be close friends without being called gay, then I’ve been gay since I was about seven.
Israel/Middle East: Peace is impossible with two groups that have beliefs for which they’ll not hesitate to die and kill for.
Luxury liner keeling over: How ironic, and yet creepy, is it that they were scheduled to show Titanic that night? That’s like watching Alive on an airplane.
Stem cell research: Nobody is going to kill their baby or choose to not have a child for this cause -- these are embryos are those that would’ve been destroyed anyway, and the intent is to save lives.
Is there really a Suri Cruise?: Numerous pictures of Katie Holmes have never showed a baby in her arms (even covered up), including when traveling abroad. I can’t imagine any mom leaving their newborn like that.
Witnesses that watched a 64-year-old man being stabbed with power saws on a NY subway platform and did NOTHING: sickening.
Christie Brinkley’s husband cheating on her with a 19-year-old: In the words of Paulette from Legally Blonde, if a woman like her can’t keep her man, then what chance to the rest of us have?
