Staying Fresh
A couple of years ago, I was attending the funeral for the grandfather of one of my closest friends, Brookie, here in Hawaii. I'd just moved back a couple of months earlier and my divorce was about that old as well. I was talking to Brook's mom at the cemetary and she was asking me how everything was going, how did I like being back in Hawaii, etc. (once you leave for college, it's usually things like a divorce that bring one back).
Brook's mom then pointed out that her son, Donny, had several friends that I could possibly be introduced to.
My response: Uh...well... he's four years younger (24 at the time) and I think that might be a little too young for me. You know, the maturity difference and everything?
Brook's mom: Oh, no honey. I didn't mean to date... I meant just to stay fresh.
So, here's to all of us to continue "staying fresh," even if it's with your significant other , and not some young girl/boy toy:)
